Treatment programs go a long way in helping people overcome depression and anxiety, find the motivation to reach goals, and achieve optimal mental health. Programs for the treatment of depression and anxiety come in all shapes and sizes.

That said, choosing the right one can make all the difference when it comes to recovery. Nedley Health offers an array of programs designed to accommodate different needs and circumstances. Let’s take a look at what each one offers so you can make the best choice for you or your loved one:

Why Join a Recovery Program to Treat Depression and Anxiety?

Joining a recovery program for depression and anxiety offers numerous benefits.

The right program can help you learn how to overcome depression and anxiety, discover how to achieve a healthy sense of self-worth, learn coping skills, find the motivation and concentration to help achieve your goals, help a friend or family member with depression, prevent depression and anxiety, plan and practice stress management, achieve optimal mental health, learn general health knowledge, and engage in professional development.

Results speak for themselves, demonstrating just how impactful a recovery program can be. For example, as a result of our May 2022 residential program, Beck scores—assessments and inventories for measuring patient needs and progress— improved significantly. As a program average, Beck Depression scores went from severe to none and Beck Anxiety scores went from moderate to mild.

3 Recovery Programs for Treatment of Depression and Anxiety

At Nedley Health, we offer three different recovery programs for treatment of depression and anxiety to match a variety of circumstances. Our goal for each program is to help participants eradicate depression and anxiety while enhancing the mind and body.

Let’s dive in to what each Nedley Health recovery program entails so you can find the best option for you or your loved one:

1. Community Program

If you’re ready to venture beyond your home but not quite prepared to commit to residential recovery, a community program may be the perfect fit. The community-based Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery Programs (NDARP) have helped more than 10,000 documented participants from all over the world achieve improved mental health. In fact, many participants have even eliminated their depression and/or anxiety completely.

“Following this program for just 8-weeks has not only eradicated my depression and anxiety but has also helped me spiritually, mentally, and physically.”

Our mental health education community program is well-researched, scientifically based, and designed to encompass the whole person. Similar to our online program, it provides evidence-based information, practical interventions, and useful tools—plus the added bonuses of supportive volunteer staff and group accountability.

During the program, you can expect to cover topics like identifying anxiety and depression and their causes, lifestyle treatment for depression and anxiety, nutrition and the brain, how rational thinking can defeat depression and anxiety, combating stress,  positive lifestyle choices, living above loss, and how to improve brain function.

If you’re interested in bringing mental health education to your community, we offer training and support to help you create a program that best fits your needs.

2. Online Program

Our online program is the easiest way for you or your loved one to get healthy from home—whenever and wherever you need it. An online program is a great alternative if there isn’t a community program available in your area and you’re not quite ready to commit to a residential program.

“Dr. Nedley and his team are beyond knowledgeable on how to change emotional intelligence levels and treat depression, anxiety, and emotional disorders. I am so grateful for this program and how it has impacted my heart and life, and my family's life for the better. Dr. Nedley has given me hope for the future and how to control my behavior and emotions, with tangible tools and coping mechanisms. His lectures, texts, nutrition and supplement research, light therapy, exercise and overall mental lifestyle change - all contribute to an empowering program to take back your health and your life. The last 8 weeks have transformed my life forever. I wish I found his program sooner! He is a gem! Thank you for this program and changing lives for the better!!’

We offer two online programs—our basic package and complete package—to choose from, both which last eight weeks and include helpful resources to guide recovery. Both options include access to online materials, a digital workbook, Depression and Anxiety Assessment Test™ before and after scores, and course certification. The complete online program package includes physical workbooks and reading material.

The Nedley Depression and Anxiety Relief Program™ Online curriculum features a wide range of resources, including educational lectures, tutorial videos, practical action steps and assignments, and lifestyle application tracking. Participants can access program material anytime, anywhere and complete it at their own pace.

3. Residential Program

Our 10-day intensive residential program is our most comprehensive treatment option. Currently operating 7-8 times a year in Northern California, people travel from all over the US and beyond to attend. It’s arguably the most comprehensive residential treatment program for depression and anxiety in the US today.

The residential NDARP is designed to enhance the frontal lobe, optimize peak mental performance, promote neuroplasticity, and transform thinking through practical therapeutic tools. During our residential program, we treat victims of trauma, abuse, and attempted suicide, as well as those suffering from conditions such as PTSD, OCD, self-mutilation, social phobias, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, addiction disorders, and the severest forms of both depression and anxiety.

“My anxiety and fear were holding me back from fully living my life and being truly present. During the residential program I learned that I do have the power to face my fears head on and conquer them. My trust and faith have been deepened and I feel a sense of hope and excitement for the future.”

If you choose to complete the residential program, you can expect to receive a comprehensive health history review, full medical workup with labs, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and consultations with a medical doctor and counselors. Two counselors will work with you individually to help your brain become the best it can be.

In addition to receiving care from medical doctors and counselors, our residential program also includes hydrotherapy, massage treatments, healthy meals and nutrition education, peaceful hiking trails, flexibility training, aerobic conditioning, lifestyle change recommendations, practical small group discussions, training to recognize and correct distorted thoughts, strategies for overcoming addictions, stress management planning, interactive presentations, tools for coping with loss, and opportunities for improved spiritual health.
